The Camp California Wildfires – Nothing To Do With Campfires

As towns and properties are destroyed, the death tolls rise from what has already become the states worst natural disaster in California history.

I’m from the east coast, and so the information i get on this tragic event is through news reporting, and one detail I feel is important to note is the confusing nature surrounding the headline that major media outlets have given this event – The California Camp Fires.

Many people in my area of the country have come to believe, and rightfully so, that this was started from a literal camp fire – as in s’mores, marshmellows, and the person with the acoustic guitar who doesn’t quite know how to play it. This is deceiving, becuase that’s not the case, the term “Camp Fires” is referring to a region in the area – specifically Camp Creek rd, where the fire is believed to have originated.
